Even only a few years into the new decade, the 2020s have proven themselves to be an amazing decade not just for horror, but for horror comedy as a whole. There have been countless amazing and massively successful horror comedies that have brought audiences to the edge of their seats, both from laughter and fear. Films like The Menu, Bodies Bodies Bodies, Freaky, and M3GAN have proven that horror comedy is thriving in the 2020s and shows no signs of stopping.

Although for every great and successful horror comedy that has come out in the new decade, there has been one that simply didn’t receive the love and attention that it deserved. Whether it was dumped on a streaming service without a second thought or didn’t get the box office success that it deserved, the decade has had a wide variety of new and exciting horror comedies that deserve their time in the spotlight.

10 ‘The Blackening’ (2022)

<img width="1400" class="lazyload" height="700" alt="A group of friends gather for a Juneteenth weekend in The Blackening.
The Blackening follows a group of Black friends who are reuniting for a Juneteenth weekend getaway only to have their plans stopped when they find themselves trapped with a twisted killer. The killer forces the friend group to play his sadistic game, as he plans to take them out one after another for his own personal thrill.

RELATED: The 10 Best Horror Comedy Movies of the Last 5 Years

While direct parody and spoof movies had their ups and downs throughout the 21st century, The Blackening proves that there is still potential and possibility for this style of comedy in the modern era. The film is able to effectively take a crack at horror genre conventions and tropes while still having its own cast of engaging and hilarious characters to enjoy banter with one another on screen.

9 ‘Studio 666’ (2022)

       Image via Open Road

Studio 666 sees legendary real-life rock band the Foo Fighters moving into a luxury Encino mansion filled to the brim with rock and roll memorabilia and history as inspiration to record their new album. Once they enter the house, however, Dave Grohl finds himself dealing with a supernatural possession that threatens both the completion of their album as well as the lives of everyone involved.

Combining the best parts of being both a horror comedy and a musical comedy, Studio 666 is a hilarious and gory combination that in a strange way makes for the perfect fit for the Foo Fighters. Grohl and the rest of the band especially do a great job on-screen of selling both the absurd comedic moments throughout the film as well as the actual great kills that the film handles.

8 ‘Vampires vs. The Bronx’ (2020)

       Image Via Netflix

Vampires vs. The Bronx sees a trio of rambunctious kids from a rapidly gentrifying Bronx neighborhood stumbling upon a secret evil plot from a group of vampires planning to literally suck the blood from their community. Armed only with their own wits and determination to save the neighborhood, they soon become the Bronx’s last hope of survival from a complete vampire takeover.

Vampires vs. The Bronx does a great job at harkening back to the classic darker tone yet cheesy horror comedies of the 80s and 90s, such as Gremlins and Monster Squad. There’s an overall infectious charm present throughout the film, to the point where audiences can’t help but get wrapped up in the small stakes surrounding these kids. The film manages to combine this rare to accomplish tone with some effective and relevant modern theming and messages about gentrification to create a modern horror classic for all ages.

7 ‘Willy’s Wonderland’ (2021)

       Willy’s WonderlandNicolas CageCR: Kyle Kaplan

Before Five Night’s at Freddy’s would bring killer animatronics to the big screen, Willy’s Wonderland would set up its own original cast of killer children’s mascots to wreak havoc. The film follows a quiet and stoic Nicolas Cage, who agrees to work as a janitor at an abandoned entertainment center in exchange for car repairs. He soon finds himself in a constant battle against the possessed animatronics inside, having to face them off in a battle for his life every night.

RELATED: 10 Modern Horror-Comedies Destined to Become Classics

Willy’s Wonderland manages to get the perfect mix of absurd hilarity combined with taking itself just seriously enough to come across as that much funnier. Cage is pitch-perfect casting for this style of film, and his hilarious performance of almost complete silence acts as the cherry on top of a mesmerizing and flashy thrill ride from beginning to end.

6 ‘Psycho Goreman’ (2020)

       Image via Image Entertainment

Psycho Goreman tells the story of siblings Mimi and Luke, who while during a normal day of childlike whimsy, accidentally resurrect an ancient evil alien overlord. Using a magical amulet, they realize that they have full control over the monster to obey their wildest dreams, drawing attention to a wide variety of intergalactic killers to invade their small suburban town.

While the premise may seem reminiscent of a classic children’s cartoon, the top-notch practical effects and gore on display makes Psycho Goreman a hilarious adult rendition of the premise. Even with its lower budget, the creature design and effects are a marvel to behold and amplify the entire viewing experience as a whole. The connection between innocent children and a world-ending alien threat lends itself to a lot of great comedic moments, both innocent childish comedy and inherent comedy from absolute carnage on display.

5 ‘Uncle Peckerhead’ (2020)

Uncle Peckerhead tells the story of a small punk band finally starting to make a name for themselves after they score their first tour. Their new lives on the road prove to be more difficult than imagined though, especially when they are joined by their first roadie, who happens to be a man-eating demon.

There’s a lot to love about Uncle Peckerhead, from its stellar usage of practical effects and gore to its stand-out comedic performance from David Littleton as Uncle Peckerhead himself. Despite being an actual man-eating demon, it’s ironic that the character of Peckerhead is filled with so much joy with a happy-go-lucky demeanor, which contrasts perfectly with his gruesome murders.

4 ‘Werewolves Within’ (2021)

       Image via IFC Films

Adapted from a VR version of the classic social deduction game, Werewolves Within sees a group of aggressive small-town residents all confined into a single old lodge during a powerful snowstorm. As if they weren’t already at each other’s throats, the situation becomes that much more dire when they realize that a member of their group is a werewolf in disguise, leaving it up to the new forest ranger to keep everyone safe.

RELATED: The 10 Best Found Footage Horror Comedy Movies, Ranked

While the original Werewolves Within game wasn’t a massive hit, its lack of focus on characters and story set the film up to be a perfect adaptation, as it was given a blank canvas to be its own thing. The film simply uses its social deduction roots as a jumping-off point to make an engaging original whodunnit story, a perfect translation of the original game of Werewolf that makes for on-screen gold. The film works so well thanks in part to its amazing colorful cast of characters, especially the two leads played by Sam Richardson and Milana Vayntrub, who knock it out of the park.

3 ‘Deadstream’ (2022)

Deadstream follows the story of Shawn Ruddy, a massively popular internet personality who has been disgraced and fallen under controversy, at risk of losing all of his fans and stardom. In a last-ditch effort to make amends to his audience, Shawn decides to livestream his experience of spending a single night alone in a haunted house. Things quickly go wrong for Shawn when he accidentally unleashes a deadly spirit, transforming his attempted comeback stream into a battle of life and death.

While manyhorror movies in the past have used the digital age and new technologies as their selling point, their lack of expertise on the subject usually has resulted in their downfall. Deadstream, however, has a perfect understanding of the culture and intricacies of streaming and influencer culture, allowing the film to provide hilarious on-point commentary through director Joseph Winter‘s lead performance as Shawn. Shawn is bumbling, easily scared, and excessively over-the-top for the sake of his audience, making him both a hilariously accurate influencer and the perfect horror movie protagonist.

2 ‘Vicious Fun’ (2020)

       Image via RJLE Films

Vicious Fun follows the story of Joel, an 80s film critic for a national horror magazine who accidentally finds himself stumbling upon a self-help group for dangerous serial killers. In order to avoid becoming their next victim, Joel is forced to blend in with the killers, providing an increasingly difficult-to-hold facade pretending to be a ruthless killer just like them.

Vicious Fun’s greatest attribute is its comedic character dynamics, as each of the main killers in the self-help group parallels a popular style of horror movie killer. They vary from the strong and silent Michael Meyers-type to the egotistical and highly coordinated Patrick Bateman-type. Combined with Joel’s awkward attempts at acting as if he’s a killer himself, the result is comedy gold, leading into some equally hilarious and satisfying carnage once the facade is revealed.

1 ‘The Wolf of Snow Hollow’ (2020)

       Image via United Artists Releasing

The Wolf of Snow Hollow sees increasingly stressed-out police officer John Marshall (played by director Jim Cummings) attempt not to completely lose his sanity following a string of murders in his small town. It soon becomes increasingly difficult for Marshall to keep his cool as a protector of the town when it slowly dawns upon him that the man behind the murders may not be human at all, and instead is a ferocious werewolf.

The Wolf of Snow Hollow combines the tone and stylings of a Coen brothers movie with the premise of a creature feature whodunnit to make for an unexpected yet amazing combination. The film is able to find a perfect balance between the core mystery at the center of the story, the internal struggles and self-doubt that Marshall faces, and having a high number of great comedic moments.

The writing is far from the only place that has this level of balance and charm however, as its a tone that Cummings is able to draw out in just about every aspect of the film.

When seen separately, horror and comedy are two genres with massive followings. But when put together, they produce something even more magical. While the shadows and spooks of horror generate a signature fright, the laughter of comedy reduces the tension and makes the overall experience fun. After all, horror comedies have long been a mainstay of the film industry, from Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein to Shaun of the Dead to Bodies Bodies Bodies.

And yet, within the fan favorite sub-genre, certain gems have flown under the general radar with larger films gathering all the praise. These recent horror comedies, from the last 10 years or so, seem to have wriggled their way into the hidden corners of our streaming menus, only delighting a small audience. But if you’re someone who enjoys the pleasure of a good scare followed by a giggle, then we’re here to send some movies right up your alley. From over-the-top zombie horrors to a grounded, realistic horror in absurd backdrops, this list provides a sneak peek into films you may have missed.

Kylie Bucknell is court-ordered to house arrest and is forced to return to her childhood home. There, she is stuck living with her estranged mother and boring stepdad. However, when strange happenings occur, Kylie realizes that her mother is right and is convinced that her old house is haunted. In Housebound, a mischievous spirit lurks behind stuffy curtains and dusty floorboards, and all it wants is to have some fun. As Kylie begins her investigations, she discovers family history, secret passages, and supernatural activities. The movie uses deadpan Kiwi humor to smooth out some genuinely creepy moments and it works. As a result, there is an equal amount of laughs and scares, anchored by memorable characters.

In a sea of cookie-cutter slashers, it is actually refreshing to find a 5-second YouTube short to get a full-fledged feature film adaptation. From the minds of the creators of 5 Second Films YouTube channel, Dude Bro Party Massacre III is synonymous to a blood-soaked middle finger standing out in a crowd. The parody follows Brent Chirino, who is so mad at his twin brother’s sudden murder, that he decides to infiltrate the ranks of an exclusive fraternity to get to the bottom of the case.

Related: The 10 Most Rewatchable Horror Comedies of All Time

The movie has every college trope – dimwitted frat boys, ragers, a haunted house, killjoys and even campus prudes. But what makes it so thrilling are the over-the-top deaths which are as gory as they are creative. In a way, the film puts a millennial spin on slasher flicks.

13 The Final Girls

The Final Girls has a ridiculously interesting premise. Max is a film geek devastated by the death of her mother, who was a famous horror film actress back in the 1980s. One day, magically, Max is plunged into an 80s slasher film that her mom starred in. Now, she must not only join forces with the film’s characters to survive but also try to alter the ending and save the character played by Max’s mother. The film expertly balances poignant themes of grief and loss with meta-horror hijinks, mining unexpected gold from the plot. The cast, including Taissa Farmiga, Malin Akerman, Nina Dobrev, and Alexander Ludwig are both sensitive and relatable. Overall, the movie manages to call upon the nostalgia of a classic genre while staying cleverly comedic.

What if Superbad was a zombie horror comedy? Well, you don’t have to exercise your brain or run your imagination because Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse is a visual representation of the answer. The movie centers around three adolescent Eagle Scouts, Ben, Carter and Augie, encountering the horrors of a zombie outbreak on the eve of their last camping trip. They band together to survive not only the undead and the government conspiracies but also their friendship and each other. Directed by Christopher Landon, the movie is alarmingly funny and it delivers that good ol’ zombie fun. The hapless trio bickers and blunders their way through the apocalypse, showing how friendship can never go out of style.

A Christmas thriller set on a quiet suburban street, Better Watch Out follows Ashley, who’s traced on a lonely holiday night to the home of the Lerners to babysit their 12-year-old son Luke. But when an intruder breaks into the house, threatening Luke’s life, Ashley must protect the house, herself and the kid. As danger grows closer, this abnormal home invasion spells doom for everyone in the house. Being a holiday horror-comedy, the film revels in playing with audience expectations and giving shocking plot twists. Watching a twelve-year-old being capable of pulling precocious charges and a put-upon babysitter to deal with it is by far the most satisfying blend a coming-of-age film has churned.

10 Mayhem

Starring Steven Yeun and Samara Weaving, this subversive office horror chronicles the events after a vicious virus spreads through a workplace, triggering panic and violence among the employees. Apparently, a “red eye” virus has left a bunch of white-collar corporate workers quarantined in the building, with a lawyer and his client finding a way out. Although not deadly, the virus leaves the infected increasingly unhinged and unstoppable, which makes up for a lot of hilarity. Mayhem is dark, it’s funny, it’s bloody, and it satirizes corporate culture in a way never seen before. As Yeun and Weaving’s characters are pushed to the brink of madness, the film also asks big questions about capitalism and the hierarchies of power. Fitting for the time we live in, this action-horror is definitely worth a watch.

There is no brainstorming for the premise of this one. Nick Thune’s Dave is a listless, twenty-something artist going through a creative block. In utter desperation, he builds an elaborate cardboard maze in his living room as a brand new arp project. But then things begin to go sideways as strange creatures and booby traps appear within the maze, trapping him inside. Annie, his girlfriend, calls a bunch of weird friends to go inside and rescue Dave.

But as they search for a way out, the boundaries between art and reality start to blur and they find themselves being chased by a horrifying, bloodthirsty Minotaur. The DIY cardboard aesthetic seems entirely harmless and childlike in the beginning. And even as things get creepier, Dave Made A Maze confines itself within just an occasional gore and existential dread of youth.

This Japanese zombie horror is set in an abandoned World War II facility and it centers around a film crew trying to shoot a low-budget zombie movie. Before they know it, their fun situation turns dangerously fatal. The crew is attacked by a gang of actual zombies, and it’s impossible to discern the “actors” from the undead. One Cut of the Dead is a horror comedy magician’s sleight of hand because it succeeds in fooling the audience at every turn. It is filled with elaborate ruses and clever plot twists you never see coming. Under Shinichirou Ueda’s brilliant direction, this interesting film comes alive as an ode to the art of storytelling. Moreover, it is told in one continuous 37 minute take, where you witness inventive zombie attacks, gruesome chases, and genuine, wholehearted fun.

Anna and the Apocalypse is a British Christmas zombie musical that redefines both horror and comedy. Anna is a straight-laced high school student who finds herself and her friends fighting for survival when a zombie attack hits Little Haven, a sleepy Scottish town. It is Christmas Eve and the atmosphere is as exhilarating as it is scary. But Anna has a mission – to get to her loved ones before the swarm of zombies does. Together with her snarky friends, Anna must battle the undead while also pondering upon the meaning of life, navigate love and high school, while the world around her comes crumbling down. The film costume-designs the genre by inviting the audience to try on something cool. There is sincerity in the characters, catchy original songs, and a coming-of-age story, all combined into one.

6 Lake Michigan Monster

The film may have been released in 2018, but it is shot in black-and-white and plays out as an adventure horror comedy. Doesn’t make sense, right? Well, the plot of Lake Michigan Monster goes like this: Captain Seafield is an absurd loner, who gathers a group of the finest motley ship crew to find the mysterious lake monster and seek revenge for killing his father. Written, produced, directed by, and starring Ryland Brickson Cole Tews, this low-budget creature feature is truly fantastic. It is delivered with modern wit and heart, reveling in cheesy special effects, imaginative scares and amateur drive to win. The movie draws inspiration from horror classics of the 1950s, and that aesthetic is visible in Seafield’s eccentric personality. Overall, Lake Michigan Monster transforms B-movie tropes into an offbeat masterpiece.

       Bl!nder Films

Set in a very bizarre version of Ireland where there are ghosts everywhere, Extra Ordinary is a laugh-out-loud horror that mixes supernatural tropes with mundanity. Rose, the main protagonist of the movie, is a driving instructor with supernatural talents. When she finds out that a sweet but tragic local’s daughter is being wooed by a rock star for Satanic purposes, she decides to help him. Apparently, the washed-up rockstar has made a deal with the devil to trap the souls of small-town locals. This theme itself evokes several visual gags. Moreover, the film’s secret weapon is Rose herself, an odd and battered but kind-hearted heroine whose wit and powers act as the perfect foil for Martin’s troubled guy. Along with the eerie atmosphere, the jokes come at you in the opening few minutes, which makes this film highly enjoyable.

4 Little Monsters

       NEON

Judging by the title alone, you can tell that the film is going to be a mix of horror and creativity. In Little Monsters, Dave is a washed-up musician who is crushed after having his heart broken. To get back in the zone and recover, he decides to chaperone his nephew’s kindergarten field trip. But in reality, he’s more interested in getting close to Miss Caroline, Felix’s kindergarten teacher whom he has a crush on. Things go awry when he finds himself in a battle ground, protecting the children from a sudden zombie outbreak.

As bodies pile up and hell breaks loose, Dave, Miss Caroline, the students, and a bubbling TV personality played by Josh Gad, form a funny alliance. The best part is seeing Lupita Nyong’o buttoned-up kindergarten teacher transform into an ax wielding zombie slayer.

An ancient dagger. A ticking clock. Freaky is a horror comedy rollercoaster ride that centers around a high school student, who after coming upon a mysterious dagger, is cursed and ends up switching bodies with a notorious serial killer. Struggling to navigate this new life, she soon realizes that she only has 24 hours to reverse her situation otherwise she will forever be stuck in the killer’s body. The film, directed by Christopher Landon, delivers equal amounts of thrills and laughter as well as some genuinely touching moments. Vince Vaughn chews the scenery with a terrifying glee as the serial killer “The Butcher” trapped in a teenage girls’ body, while Kathryn Newton brings a deadpan energy as Mille Kessler, trying to comprehend a violent world.

Spontaneous is an appalling coming-of-age horror comedy that deserves more appreciation. Set in the high school of small-town Maryland, the movie follows students who start exploring, literally and inexplicably. Amidst the chaos and mayhem, two seniors named Mara and Dylan form a passionate bond while also trying to make it in a world where each day might be their last. Using familiar tropes of an apocalyptic premise, the film fashions a love story with a fresh take on both genres. Katherine Langford is charming as Mara, a disruptive teen entering the orbit of a shy misfit teen, played by Charlie Plummer. Where their peers are combusting for no reason and their blood is splashing on hallways and lockers, their romance blossoms.

1 Vicious Fun

From the terrific mind of Cody Calahan comes this Canadian horror comedy that is quite self-aware and satirical. It follows Joel, a sarcastic 1980s critic working for a popular horror magazine, who finds himself stuck in a self-help group of serial killers. Now, he has two choices – to tune into their morbid fun or become their next target. Vicious Fun is the perfect combination of slasher thrills and Gen-X humor. The crew of self-help group members, or villains, as we’d call them, is played by a remarkable cast while Evan Marsh brings an innocence towards the secret underground world that is widely relatable. Moreover, the film delivers delightful gory murders, style, and allows you to have a bloody good time.

Just a sad reminder it takes more than a funny premise or a well-known actor to make something we could actually laugh at.

1. Epic Movie (2007)

Epic Movie is a comedy that parodies popular blockbuster hits, from The Chronicles of Narnia to Pirates of the Caribbean. Unfortunately, the movie manages to take all the magic and excitement of the films it mocks and turns them into a soulless and laugh-free 86 minutes. The film tried to throw everything at the wall to see what sticks, but it seems the wall was lined with Teflon. Epic Movie boasts a painfully low 2% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, making it far from the epic it set out to be. Despite this, it managed to rake in $86.9 million at the box office, which is a testament to the power of marketing and the curiosity of moviegoers.

2. The Love Guru (2008)

The Love Guru stars Mike Myers, who attempts to bring his signature humor to the role of an American raised in India by gurus. He returns to the U.S. to break into the self-help business. Sounds funny, right? Not quite. The humor falls flat, with cringe-worthy jokes and uncomfortable moments outweighing the laughs. The film has a disappointing 13% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and its box office earnings barely surpassed its budget, bringing in $40.8 million against a $62 million budget. Myers’ performance earned him a Razzie Award for Worst Actor, a stark contrast to his iconic roles in Austin Powers and Wayne’s World.

3. Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star (2011)

Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star is about a Midwesterner who moves to Hollywood in hopes of following in his parents’ footsteps to become a porn star. It’s a premise that’s ripe for comedy, but the execution was sorely lacking. The humor comes across as forced and unimaginative, with an over-reliance on crude jokes and physical gags. The film earned a rare 3% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and flopped at the box office, earning a paltry $2.5 million against a $10 million budget. The critical consensus was that it was profoundly unfunny.

4. Movie 43 (2013)

Movie 43 is a collection of 14 comedy sketches starring numerous A-list actors, including Hugh Jackman, Kate Winslet, and Halle Berry. Despite the star-studded cast, the film was a comedy desert. Its crude humor felt forced, leaving audiences cringing more often than laughing. The film holds a dismal 4% on Rotten Tomatoes and was a box office disappointment, with $32.4 million in earnings against a $6 million budget. Despite its failings, the film did manage to win a Razzie Award for Worst Picture, proving that it certainly made an impression, albeit not a positive one.

5. Norbit (2007)

Norbit, starring Eddie Murphy in multiple roles, is a comedy that promises a lot of laughs. Unfortunately, the film becomes a victim of its own crude humor and stereotyping. While Murphy’s performance is dedicated, the thin plot and gross-out gags fail to hit the right comedic notes. Despite its poor reception and a low Rotten Tomatoes score of 9%, it surprisingly did quite well at the box office, earning $159.3 million. This is evidence that even a comedic legend like Murphy couldn’t save a weak script from its critical downfall.

6. Gigli (2003)

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck star in Gigli, a romantic comedy that could have capitalized on the duo’s real-life chemistry. Instead, the film is filled with lackluster jokes, and an unconvincing plot that centers around a mobster kidnapping a federal prosecutor’s mentally disabled brother. The storyline did not lend itself to comedy, and the dialogue fell flat. The film carries a 6% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and was a commercial disaster, grossing only $7.3 million against a $75.6 million budget. It also swept the 2004 Razzie Awards, including Worst Picture, proving this was one comedic misfire that won’t be forgotten.

7. Jack and Jill (2011)

Jack and Jill is a comedy that stars Adam Sandler playing both titular roles of fraternal twins. Unfortunately, the film turned out to be more of a comedic horror than a comedic masterpiece. Filled with unfunny jokes, the film’s humor feels forced and does not land as intended. The movie has an embarrassing 3% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and managed to accumulate $149.7 million in box office receipts. Notably, it swept all ten categories at the 2012 Razzie Awards, a feat that no other film has achieved to date.

8. The Master of Disguise (2002)

The Master of Disguise is a comedy that centers on a bumbling waiter, played by Dana Carvey, who must use his family’s secret gift of disguise to save his kidnapped parents. While the concept is not without potential, the film’s execution is underwhelming. The jokes are simplistic, and the plot is lacking in substance. It holds a lowly 1% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite the negative reviews, it managed to gross $43.4 million at the box office, proving that even the least funny comedies can turn a profit.

9. Fred: The Movie (2010)

Fred: The Movie is a comedy based on the popular YouTube character Fred Figglehorn. Unfortunately, what works in short internet videos doesn’t always translate to a 90-minute film. The film relies heavily on its main character’s high-pitched voice and awkward antics for laughs, but these quickly wear thin. It garnered an abysmal 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite the critical panning, it found a home on Nickelodeon, showing that even the worst films can find their niche audience.

10. Disaster Movie (2008)

Disaster Movie is a spoof film that parodies disaster films, but it ironically ended up being a disaster itself. With its lowbrow humor and string of unfunny gags, the comedy couldn’t quite hit the mark. The film boasts a rare 1% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, effectively sealing its fate as one of the least funny comedies. Despite its $20 million budget, it only scraped together $34.8 million at the box office. Its only accolade? A Razzie Award for Worst Picture of the Decade.

11. The Hottie & The Nottie (2008)

The Hottie & The Nottie, starring Paris Hilton, is a romantic comedy that attempted to find humor in superficiality. However, the jokes fell flat and the plot was predictable, leaving audiences feeling underwhelmed. It has a 6% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and performed disastrously at the box office, earning just $1.6 million against a $9 million budget. The film was also ‘honored’ with multiple Razzie Awards, including Worst Actress for Paris Hilton (figures).

12. Son of the Mask (2005)

Son of the Mask, the sequel to the successful 1994 comedy The Mask, fails to live up to its predecessor. The film’s attempt at humor comes off as forced and the charm of the original is sorely missed. It holds a 6% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and had a disappointing run at the box office, with a worldwide gross of $57.6 million against a $84-100 million budget. This sequel proved that not every successful comedy calls for a follow-up.
